Monday is here!
Yup! we're dropping more deliciousness today...
Here we ....goooo! |
The Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation has launched the ‘Feeding Oil Country’ 50/50 raffle, running until December 31, to tackle food insecurity in partnership with organizations like Food Banks Alberta and Second Harvest.
Corey Smith, chair of the foundation, highlighted the campaign’s importance in delivering nutritious meals to families in need and ensuring surplus food benefits the community.
This initiative has inspired a wave of local support, with Edmonton butchers such as D’Arcy’s Meat Market seeing a rise in customers buying ‘Freezer Packs’—affordable meat bundles—to donate or help manage their own grocery bills amid soaring beef prices.
Another family-owned shop, Edmonton Custom Packers, continues to provide preservative-free options for health-conscious residents.
With beef prices set to increase in the New Year, these efforts showcase Edmonton’s community resilience and generosity.
Raffle participants have a chance at Oilers prizes, while proceeds directly benefit local food banks. Read More... |
