Another thursday and new year are here!

Today we feature the Seitans..

Go!

Teresa Spinelli, owner of the Italian Centre Shop, has secured the future of Little Italy by purchasing The Piazza property.

This move protects a beloved local landmark and ensures that the Italian Centre Shop will remain at the heart of the neighborhood.

Spinelli’s decision was inspired by her deep commitment to community values, especially with the threat of outside buyers potentially changing the area’s character.

By acquiring The Piazza at 108th Avenue and 95th Street, she preserves a vibrant gathering place filled with unique shops and popular events.

The previous owner, McCauley Development Cooperative, struggled with pandemic-driven financial setbacks, making her intervention crucial for both investors and residents.

Plans are underway to revitalize the square and invite new, community-focused businesses while the neighborhood gears up for a major Italian festival in May 2026.

Spinelli's leadership highlights her passion for celebrating and strengthening Little Italy’s cultural legacy.
