The family behind the beloved Frida Urban Taqueria, which closed due to prolonged construction on 124th Street, has made a triumphant return to Edmonton’s food scene.
Their new restaurant, Juana Ines, is a bold rebirth now open in Manchester Square at 12042 107 Ave NW.
Named for Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz, a 17th-century feminist icon, the vibrant space is a tribute to resilience and authentic Mexican heritage.
The menu proudly features homestyle Central Mexican cuisine from the family’s roots in Querétaro.
Guests can expect traditional flavours in dishes like mole enchiladas and street-style tacos, from the mild suadero to the smoky tinga.
The new location offers more space and crucial parking, fitting perfectly into the square’s community of independent businesses.
