Edmonton’s food scene is undergoing an exciting transformation, led by Chef Shane Chartrand and his unique celebration of Indigenous cuisine.

Chartrand’s Indigenous Taste of the Market events, held at the Old Strathcona Farmers' Market, invite guests to explore multi-course menus inspired by traditional flavors and stories.

Each intimate, after-hours dinner uses locally sourced ingredients and shares the deep roots of Indigenous culinary heritage with every course.

Taking place bi-weekly from January 28 to June 17, 2026, these gatherings are a rare chance for Edmontonians to connect with authentic food and culture.

Chartrand also runs Paperbirch by Chartrand, a weekend brunch and lunch spot at the market, where the menu shifts with the seasons and highlights both tradition and innovation.

Fans are encouraged to reserve early, as these sought-after culinary experiences sell out quickly.
